Application Engineer, Technical Marketing, Medium and Low Power Semiconductors

A semiconductor business running its European sales and marketing from a headquarters near Dusseldorf, and its export operations across the EMEA region, is looking for an application engineer to join its technical marketing team.

The company's expertise sits in three product areas: power semiconductors, high-frequency components and optoelectronics. Power semiconductors matter to decarbonisation, and the purpose of the role is to help customers build efficient, sustainable products. The role is hybrid, with three days a week onsite.

What you'll do

• Drive technical design-in activities with customers alongside the sales team
• Monitor technology trends, run competitive analyses and report what you find
• Shape the product portfolio through proposals, and define product strategy and roadmaps with the engineering organisation in Japan
• Identify new market opportunities and set the strategy for reaching them
• Create promotional tools and product presentations
• Run product and technical training for customers, distributors, trainees and the sales team
• Provide technical customer support, covering design-in work and quality issues

What you'll bring

• A degree in power electronics, electrical engineering or a related field
• Five years of professional experience in power electronics
• Strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to persuade
• An independent, self-driven and solution-oriented way of working
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, around 30 per cent of the time
• A team player who enjoys intercultural collaboration
• Fluent English
