Applications Engineer, Semiconductor and Optical Test Systems

We are recruiting three applications engineers for a manufacturer of test and measurement systems for semiconductor and optical devices, building its European team. The instruments test high speed optical modules, laser diodes, silicon photonics wafers and co-packaged optics, alongside power device test.

What you would do

• Install new test equipment at customer sites and run the qualification and machine release for production.
• Maintain and upgrade hardware and software, on site and remotely.
• Act as the interface between the customer and the engineering organisation, and as the technical voice of the customer inside the company.
• Translate customer needs into technical and functional requirements for engineering and development.
• Work alongside sales and project managers so that what is offered matches what the customer expects.

What you would bring

• A degree in electrical engineering, electronics, physics or a related technical subject.
• Experience in the electrical and mechanical installation of semiconductor test equipment.
• A hands-on, analytical and structured way of working, and the ability to hold several priorities in a live customer environment.
• Fluent English. German or another European language is an advantage rather than a requirement.

• Based in Germany, covering customers across Europe.
• Travel of around 50 per cent.
• Initial training on the full product range at the manufacturer's site overseas.
