Automotive Business Development Manager – "Italian Market"

A global automotive semiconductor company is looking for an experienced Automotive Business Development Manager to lead new business initiatives and drive growth in the Italian automotive market, leveraging advanced solutions including microcontrollers, sensors, power-management ICs and battery-management systems across electric vehicles, ADAS, autonomous driving and in-vehicle infotainment.

Based in Milan or Turin, Italy, with 20 to 30% travel within Italy and occasionally abroad. You will work closely with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and technology partners to shape the company's automotive footprint in Italy through strategic partnerships and opportunities.

What you'll do

  • Identify and pursue new business across Italy's automotive industry, and act as the primary business interface with key OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and partners
  • Promote the complete automotive portfolio: MCUs, power-management ICs, sensors, ADAS solutions and EV battery-management systems
  • Build and manage a pipeline of design-ins and opportunities across the Italian market, collaborating with local sales to drive revenue and adoption
  • Work with product development, sales and marketing so customer requirements are reflected in roadmaps, and provide market intelligence and competitor analysis
  • Represent the company at automotive conferences, trade shows and industry forums
  • Report regularly to senior management on pipeline, customer feedback, market trends and key metrics such as design-ins, revenue growth and satisfaction

What you'll bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automotive or a related engineering field; MBA a plus
  • At least 8 years in business development or sales in the automotive sector, ideally with a focus on semiconductor solutions
  • A strong understanding of automotive semiconductors: MCUs, sensors, power-management ICs, battery management and ADAS
  • Proven experience with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in Italy; familiarity with EV and autonomous-vehicle markets highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in Italian and English, and demonstrated success driving growth, meeting sales targets and building long-term relationships
