An established high-power semiconductor manufacturer with decades of heritage in IGBT modules, power assemblies, bipolar devices and EV-focused power semiconductors, now making a focused investment in electrification and e-mobility across Europe, is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new EV business across West and Southern Europe, a region with strong OEM, Tier 1 and power-electronics engineering hubs.
Home-based, flexible across France, Italy or Spain, with regular travel across the region. A senior, field-based, hunter-style role: opening key EV OEM and Tier 1 accounts, securing design-in and nomination wins, and building long-term platform relationships, supported by global applications engineering, R&D and product teams from early concept through to series production.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute a regional EV business-development strategy across France, Italy, Spain and adjacent markets
- Identify, qualify and pursue new opportunities with EV OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and powertrain system integrators
- Drive design-in activity for traction inverters, onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, and auxiliary and high-voltage power systems
- Build trusted relationships with power-electronics engineering, system architects, procurement, programme management and senior decision-makers
- Lead technical-commercial discussions with applications engineering and product management, and manage long-cycle sales from engagement through nomination, pricing and long-term supply agreements
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and regional forecasting, represent the company at customer and industry events, and feed back on requirements, competitor positioning and pricing trends
What you'll bring
- Proven business development or technical sales in EV power electronics or automotive semiconductors
- A strong understanding of EV powertrain and high-voltage systems: traction inverter architectures, OBC and DC/DC systems, high-power IGBT or power-module technologies
- Experience with EV OEMs and/or Tier 1 automotive suppliers, and the ability to manage complex, multi-year design-in and nomination cycles
- Strong commercial negotiation, account development and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English is essential; French, Italian or Spanish highly advantageous
- Willingness to travel regularly across West and Southern Europe
