An established high-power semiconductor manufacturer with over 60 years of heritage, a leading independent supplier of IGBT, bipolar, power-assembly and EV-system products for industrial and transportation markets worldwide, is entering a major phase of expansion and hiring a Business Development Manager to drive new business in industrial power electronics across the UK, with other territories potentially in scope.
Lincoln, UK, hybrid or remote, with regular travel. A hunter-style position: building new customer relationships, opening strategic accounts and growing presence across the industrial market, leading engagements from the ground up with the support of technical and product teams.
What you'll do
- Develop and grow the customer base in industrial power electronics: inverters, drives, UPS, welding systems and automation
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and secure design-in wins
- Build trusted relationships with engineering, procurement and decision-making teams
- Deliver high-quality technical and commercial presentations to support sales
- Represent the company at customer visits, trade shows and key industry events, with prompt follow-up on all enquiries
- Work cross-functionally with product, technical and marketing teams to align market needs with solutions
What you'll bring
- A strong track record in business development or sales within the power electronics or semiconductor market
- Experience with components and systems such as IGBT modules, industrial motor drives, welding converters and inverters, high-power UPS, HVDC converters and power assemblies
- Familiarity with the major industrial-automation and power-electronics OEMs and their applications
- Experience working in Germany or with German-speaking customers
- A proactive, strategic and well-organised approach to managing a territory, and willingness to travel regularly
