Business Improvement Specialist

An established high-power semiconductor manufacturer with over 60 years of heritage, supplying IGBT, bipolar, power-assembly and EV-system products worldwide, is seeking an analytical powerhouse with a passion for operational excellence: a Business Improvement Specialist to support its operational-excellence and growth initiatives, optimising inventory control, driving process improvement and aligning operational practice with the parent company's strategic objectives.

Based in Lincoln, UK, within the Operations team and reporting to the Operations Director, acting as the primary liaison between the UK operations and the parent company in China.

What you'll do

• Analyse existing inventory-control processes, develop and implement robust stocking policies to balance inventory, minimise waste and ensure production continuity, and establish minimum on-hand levels
• Create and deploy tools and dashboards giving stakeholders real-time inventory insight
• Map operational processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and develop and implement SOPs and best practice across departments
• Use Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies to establish a culture of continuous improvement, with training and coaching to ensure adoption
• Work closely with Production, Procurement and Operations to keep improvements consistent and aligned, and facilitate regular cross-departmental communication of actions, progress, challenges and outcomes
• Act as the main operational contact between the UK team and the parent company in China

What you'll bring

• Fluent English and Mandarin, with strong cross-cultural communication
• A master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical or business field
• Proven experience in process improvement, inventory control, production planning or procurement, preferably in manufacturing or high-tech, with in-depth knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
• Advanced IT skills including ERP/MRP and inventory and production-management tools, with strong data-driven analysis and problem-solving
• Experience in change management and implementing new processes with minimal disruption
• A results-oriented, proactive, collaborative and adaptable approach suited to a fast-paced environment
