A leading publicly listed semiconductor company, recognised globally for its innovation in GaN (Gallium Nitride) power devices, is launching a new strategic business unit for GaN-on-Si Micro-LEDs on an 8-inch line, addressing the fast-growing demand for Micro-LED displays in AR/AI glasses and next-generation display applications. With an R&D team in place, it is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to build a world-class manufacturing operation that takes Micro-LED technology from lab to large-scale production.

Based in China, with full-time relocation required. The COO bridges R&D and high-volume manufacturing, operationalising R&D outputs through NPI into stable, high-yield mass production and leading cross-functional teams to world-class quality and output.

What you'll do

• Lead the transition of R&D projects into mass production on an 8-inch GaN-on-Si Micro-LED line
• Build and scale manufacturing operations to achieve high yield, reliability and volume
• Develop and implement operational strategies, processes and metrics for production readiness
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations and quality through NPI and ramp-up
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in efficiency, yield and output
• Collaborate closely with R&D, supply chain and executive leadership on priorities and execution

What you'll bring

• A strong Process Integration Engineering (PIE) background from a large, top-tier semiconductor company
• A proven track record in project management and operational leadership, specifically transitioning from R&D through NPI to mass production
• Deep "R&D to fab" capability: translating R&D outputs into high-volume, stable production with strong yield
• Prior Micro-LED experience is not required; proven capability and methodology in scaling complex semiconductor projects is what matters
• Strong leadership, communication and cross-cultural management skills, and willingness to relocate full-time to China
