Engineer Electrical Testing

A leading German family-owned technology group, active in metals and recycling, healthcare, semiconductors and electronics, and industrials, is looking for an Engineer for Electrical Testing in its Electronics business to drive the design, validation and qualification of power-electronic assemblies and electronic packaging materials, especially for automotive and industrial applications.

Based in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main area, Germany.

What you'll do

• Drive testing projects: design, validation and qualification of power-electronic assemblies and packaging materials
• Define and develop new electrical test methods, including setting up new equipment for power-electronics reliability to market, customer and application requirements
• Contribute to working groups on the standardisation of power electronics and testing procedures
• Lead internal and external projects to project-management principles in close contact with partners
• Interact regularly with innovation teams, academic partners and technical sales groups

What you'll bring

• A master's or doctoral degree in electrical engineering or physics with a focus on electrical testing methodologies; materials science and reliability experience a plus
• Ideally first professional experience in power electronics or materials for power electronics, including their characterisation, and a profound understanding of semiconductor (MOSFET, IGBT, WBG) performance
• Knowledge of power-electronics testing methods and experimental skills, including interpretation of test data
• Knowledge of power-electronics requirements, able to discuss specifications with customers and transfer them into internal test strategies; basic knowledge of automotive core tools (IATF 16949, Six Sigma, DoE, MSA) a plus
• Fluent written and spoken English, German an advantage, and a strong, motivated, hands-on team-working approach
