European Sales Manager, Motor Control and Soft Starters

A UK-based global leader in the design and manufacture of motor-control solutions and energy-saving products, part of a worldwide group and exporting the large majority of its output, is looking for a European Sales Manager to drive growth across European markets: executing strategic sales plans, building strong relationships with distributors and key clients, and identifying new business.

Based at the UK head office in South West England or at key UK or European locations, reporting to the Senior International Sales Manager, with around 60% travel to international trade shows and client meetings.

What you'll do

• Drive revenue growth by identifying and developing new business with distributors, OEMs and end-users, and establish relationships with key sector influencers, consultants and industrial-automation OEMs
• Develop and implement long- and short-term market plans and a territory plan to meet sales budget objectives, and recommend tactical adjustments on product, pricing and coordination of international sales
• Appoint and manage stocking distributors, and maintain accurate CRM records and regular sales reports
• Provide market analysis, product trends and competitive intelligence to support strategic decisions
• Maintain thorough knowledge of medium- and low-voltage motor-control products and competitive activity
• Deliver a world-class level of customer response and support, working with sales administration and service teams

• Proven international sales experience with a track record of winning new business and year-on-year growth, selling technical products
• Strong business acumen for industry trends and the commercial side of a strategic selling approach, including appointing and managing stocking distributors
• A strong customer-service focus with the ability to build rapport, manage relationships, listen actively and solve problems proactively
• Persuasion and negotiation skills and a confident, trustworthy demeanour
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong presentation and consultative-selling abilities
