One of the world's leading manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive components is looking for a Field Application Engineer to support its automotive business. A key technical, customer-facing role driving design-ins, supporting new products and maximising the use of a broad semiconductor and passive-component portfolio within automotive applications, working closely with Sales, Marketing and R&D.
Based in Madrid or Barcelona, Spain, with travel within Spain and occasionally internationally.
What you'll do
- Lead design-in and design-win activity for semiconductors and passive components with a strong focus on automotive customers
- Maximise future business by identifying potential sockets in customer applications and leveraging the full BOM content of the portfolio
- Support the definition of new products and derivatives in close cooperation with Marketing and R&D
- Act as the technical interface between customers and internal Sales, Marketing and R&D teams
- Manage the technical aspects of customer projects to achieve product qualification and revenue objectives
- Prepare and deliver technical training, application workshops and product presentations, and provide application support throughout the project lifecycle
What you'll bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related field
- Experience in semiconductor and/or passive-component technologies, with practical hardware design experience (PCB, circuits, testing)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex topics clearly
- An independent, proactive working style with strong problem-solving ability
- Excellent Spanish and fluent English, a valid driving licence, and flexibility to travel
