One of the major global semiconductor companies, designing and producing a very wide range of electronic components from ICs to discretes, optoelectronics and passives, and a leader in silicon carbide, serving the European market through an application and technical solution centre and sales offices across Europe, is looking for a Field Application Engineer for power-management ICs to join its Applications Engineering team.
Based in Stuttgart, Germany, hybrid, with willingness to travel. You will give excellent technical support to automotive and industrial customers to support the adoption of innovative semiconductor solutions, with a clear focus on power-management integrated circuits (PMICs).
What you'll do
- Drive design-in of PMIC products for identified business opportunities, with a focus on automotive applications
- Support sales and marketing in identifying new opportunities by maintaining excellent relationships with customers' technical teams and communicating proactively
- Act as the voice of the customer, feeding customer input back to technical and marketing teams
- Support the definition of innovative products that address application trends with competitive, system-level solutions
- Initiate sales-promotion tools such as application kits and test boards, and support the creation of promotional content
- Represent the company as an author of technical articles and at conferences and events
What you'll bring
- Technical studies (BSc/BEng) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related subject
- Adequate professional experience developing power-tree systems, including hands-on laboratory work and circuit-simulation and PCB-design tools
- Familiarity with automotive power-tree architectures, power-conversion topologies such as buck and boost converters, and LDOs
- A good understanding of digital inter-chip communication interfaces and register-configurable PMIC settings
- Excellent written and oral English and German, an open personality, sales and customer orientation, and a passion for innovation
