Field Service Engineer - Energy Infrastructure Solutions

The EMEA operation of a global leader in power electronics and energy-efficient systems, with regional headquarters near Amsterdam and decades of engineering heritage in telecom, industrial and medical power, is looking for a Dutch- and/or German-speaking Level 2 Field Service Engineer for the service operations of its smart-energy team, supporting customers and colleagues with diagnostics and troubleshooting across its full range of energy-storage inverters (PCS) and energy-storage solutions.

Based in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. Remote diagnostics come first; where needed you order parts, book a field trip and restore the product on site. The team handles preventive and corrective maintenance for professional B2B clients, supports Level 1 and escalates to Level 3, and occasionally trains customers and service partners.

What you'll do

• Handle service cases to closure in the case-handling system, supporting Level 1 and escalating complex issues to Level 3
• Perform remote and on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting and service, and test products after service
• Create repair instructions, determine required spare parts, and communicate results to the customer
• Occasionally train Level 1 engineers, customers and service partners
• Periodically handle on-site field service to keep knowledge and skills current
• Communicate identified product issues to Quality and the Master Service Engineer

What you'll bring

• A degree in electrical maintenance, electro-technical services, electrical engineering or related, and certification for service and maintenance of 690Vac and 1500Vdc installations
• A good understanding of networks and computers, with strong technical analytical and diagnostic skills
• Native or fluent Dutch or German, and fluent English
• Experience with service processes and a similar remote-support or field-service role
• Good MS Office knowledge, a class B driving licence, and the organisation to work in a fast-paced environment
