A lead OT security role in the offshore plant operations team of a global wind turbine manufacturer, keeping the SCADA servers, networks and control systems of offshore wind farms secure. The team is the link between engineering and the service organisations worldwide, supporting technicians, troubleshooting SCADA and power plant controller systems, and commissioning new wind farms.
The role
- Providing cyber security support and expertise for offshore SCADA, network and industrial control systems.
- Acting as the internal consultant on OT network and security matters.
- Supporting technicians and local service teams with secure remote access, firewall rules, user management and network hardening, including weekend on-call on a rotation.
- Taking part in the hotline that gives site technicians real-time remote support.
- Working with engineering, IT security and third-level support on security improvements.
- Supporting commissioning on new projects across the whole lifecycle, so systems are integrated securely from first setup to operational handover.
What is needed
- Solid experience with Cisco equipment, at CCNA level as a minimum, and with industrial routers and switches from other vendors.
- Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIS-2 and the German critical infrastructure regulation (KRITIS).
- Knowledge of virtualisation, debugging techniques and industrial electrical systems.
- Professional English, spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel (around 20%), to work shifts between 06:00 and 18:00 CET if required, and a valid driving licence.
Basic knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, IEC 104, OPC) and of Windows Server and Linux is an advantage. The role can be based in Germany, Poland or Sweden, with partial remote working.
