A global leader in power electronics and energy-efficient systems, a major provider of power- and thermal-management, industrial-automation and renewable-energy solutions, is looking for an R&D Engineer to join its European R&D team and support its Thermal Management business in developing intelligent EC fans for industrial and building-infrastructure applications, working closely with the central R&D team in Asia and with customers and sales across EMEA.
Based in Bruchsal, Germany, with occasional travel within Europe and to Asia. Suited to someone with experience developing EC drives, fan systems or related products who wants to bring that expertise to an international technology company.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimise EC fans with a focus on aerodynamics, drive, noise behaviour and efficiency
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and benchmarking against competitor products
- Analyse and further develop EC motors, controls and mechanical components
- Communicate with customers on the technical integration of fans at system level
- Coordinate development projects from concept through to series production, in close cooperation with the central R&D team
- Document and track design changes
What you'll bring
- A degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or comparable
- Several years' experience developing EC fans, motors or similar systems
- Sound knowledge of aerodynamics, drive technology and/or analogue and digital electronics
- Experience with industrial applications such as control-cabinet cooling, HVAC or IT cooling, an advantage
- An independent, structured way of working and an interest in international cooperation
- Good German and English
