A global leader in power electronics and energy-efficient systems is looking for a Solution Architect to design and develop integrated solutions combining mechanical, electrical and software systems for industrial automation, robotics and smart manufacturing. The business spans industrial and building automation, telecom and data-centre power, EV charging, renewable energy and energy storage.
Based in Helmond, Netherlands. The role suits someone with expertise in mechatronics, embedded systems, control systems and Industrial IoT, able to deliver robust, scalable and cost-effective solutions.
What you'll do
- Design and architect integrated electro-mechanical systems, combining hardware, firmware and software
- Develop system-level solutions for automation, robotics and smart industrial equipment
- Select and integrate key components including sensors, actuators, motors, PLCs and embedded controllers
- Define system architecture, technical specifications and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (ISO, IEC, UL, CE)
- Implement and optimise Industrial IoT and cloud-based solutions for monitoring, predictive maintenance and automation
- Lead proof-of-concept developments, optimise performance through testing and validation, and drive Industry 4.0 innovation
What you'll bring
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
- At least 7 years in industrial automation, robotics, electro-mechanical system design or a related engineering field
- Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical system integration, PLC/SCADA/DCS, embedded systems and real-time control
- Experience with motion control, power electronics, Industrial IoT and cloud platforms, and industrial protocols (PROFINET, Modbus, CAN, EtherNet/IP)
- Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL) and industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams hands-on
