A senior RF role for an automotive electronics supplier, developing the RF system architecture behind UWB-based localisation and access systems, the technology that lets a vehicle find and recognise its key.

The role

  • Developing and optimising RF system architectures for UWB-based localisation and access systems.
  • Designing and developing RF front-ends, and supporting antenna array concepts.
  • Analysing and ensuring the coexistence of UWB, BLE and NFC.
  • Planning, running and evaluating RF measurements with VNA, spectrum analyser and oscilloscope, and validating system performance under real conditions.
  • Working closely with software, systems, test and mechanical teams to optimise algorithms and system parameters.
  • Supporting component selection, PCB design reviews, EMC and product and design validation.

What is needed

  • A degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, RF engineering or a comparable field.
  • At least three years in RF design, UWB technology or antenna development.
  • Sound knowledge of RF system design, antenna arrays and radio propagation.
  • Experience of running and interpreting RF simulations and measurements, and confidence with RF test equipment.
  • A structured, analytical way of working, and experience in international, interdisciplinary teams.
