Wireless Systems Architect, 5G and LTE

A system architecture role for a communication technology company that develops audio, video, IT and communication products for demanding live environments. You own the wireless subsystem of its next-generation communication solutions, across 4G LTE, 5G NR and IoT.

The role

• Defining and maintaining the wireless subsystem architecture for next-generation communication products.
• Driving technical concepts, feasibility studies and architecture decisions for 4G LTE, 5G NR and IoT integration.
• Defining system requirements, interfaces and performance KPIs.
• Leading antenna and RF front-end integration, and optimising RF performance, coverage, reliability and efficiency.
• Supporting hardware development through every prototype phase, from concept validation to product maturity.
• Contributing to certification and compliance, and guiding technical decisions across RF, hardware and software.

What is needed

• A master's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, RF engineering, physics or a comparable discipline.
• Several years in wireless communication systems, ideally cellular or mission-critical communication systems.
• Strong knowledge of 4G LTE, 5G NR and IoT connectivity, and proven experience of wireless system architecture and requirements engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with antenna systems, RF front-end architectures, RF integration and performance optimisation.
• Knowledge of wireless regulatory standards and certification, and experience of RF measurement, troubleshooting and system validation.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
