What it means for hiring

800V distribution in the data centre is power electronics arriving in a market that has never hired for it. Arc faults, hot swap and protection coordination are ordinary questions in traction and industrial drives, and quite new to people who have spent their careers at 48V.

That gap is an opportunity rather than a problem. The engineers who already know this work in automotive and industrial power, not in computing, and most have never had a call from a data centre business. It is one of the few places right now where a well-argued approach lands with someone who was not expecting it.
